‹ “Good Morning, Yesterday..” •
I’m sitting here at my computer trying to focus and write a post but mentally unable to do so.
If you could see me, I’m happily sipping a glass of wine and gaily browsing the internet…visiting blogs I enjoy to read ..some known and familiar, …and some new and unexplored.
Finding contentment and pleasure in this luxury of reading, I ‘m enjoying the minds and musings of others while my own remains blank and unoccupied. I’m absorbing every detail of every written word and pondering every thought-provoking statement.
I enjoy reading blogs of all types of nature…similar… or different to my own. Contemplating and examining others opinions and experiences of life opens all kinds of doors and viewpoints into worlds that might otherwise remain unexplored.
I marvel at the inspirations, photography, humor, sensitivity, passions, loves and kinships they have to offer, and come away each and every time feeling satisfied and accomplished in understanding.
As I hop from mind-set to mind-set, I laugh with some and am moved by others… each visit generating it’s own rewarding experience. A glimpse into each of these worlds’ provides an invitation to familiarity, …a sharing of ’self’ extended by many.
I realize I’m not a contributor today to any thought-provoking, insightful pondering, but I am content with my quiet presence nonetheless…
..For an appreciation of the gifts and writings of others might be viewed as a gift of itself…
…for what is the good of the written word..
…if it does not touch …or is read…by another.
Until next time…Liz

If you’ve never seen the movie Dead Poets Society, I recommend that you do. Mr. Keating, brilliantly portrayed by Robin Williams, echoes your sentiments exactly. He reminds his students just how important words are to their own existence. With words, poetry, literature or writing in general we express our love and our pain and it connects us to the world. He reminds them that language is essential in every area of life. Regardless of whatever they choose to become, whether lawyers, doctors or accountants, words connect them to the human race…we are all actors contributing to the play he says and then asks the students to think about what role they will ultimately play. I love the film and believe its message is quite clear.
And so, I say to you my friend we are all actors in the play of life trying to find our role and trying to leave something of value on this earth, for we know inevitably one day we will fertilize the many daffodils that bloom in the spring.

No, Fearless, I have not seen that film but I have heard of it. The message you say it delivers is indeed one that is true. The written word, evident in every occupation or literary work is vital to an understanding and a knowledge of subject ..and life…but can only be so if it is read, shared, enjoyed and acknowledged by others.
…Thanks for sharing YOUR views with me as I enjoyably read your comments…
So glad for your visit today!..

Hi Liz!! Don’t sell yourself short, this was a thoughtful and enjoyable post. Isn’t it great the community you can find online, the way you can find others who share your interest, and learn a little more about the world around us by seeing it through the eyes of another?
A word after a word after a word, wrote Margaret Atwood, is power.
And damn, they’re a lot of fun, too. What kind of wine are you sipping this evening? Do you like a chilly chardonnay, or are you more a fan of the warm-blooded cab-shiraz? I was just gifted a bottle of the latter and look forward to a glass some evening soon.

I don’t know how you are always able to see the good in everything. Wish I could find just a HINT of that.
And if you could see me? I’m suckin down a diet coke with my sprinkly donut, wonderin if, I concentrate real hard, my laundry will fold itself.
Nope.
